Society is constantly changing and evolving provoking the emergence of new needs. One consequence of this emergence of new needs is the increased demand to integrate or create technology on systems that will leverage this needs. The first step on the process of systems design is the evaluation of needs. This evaluation will determine if the need is valid and if the current technology can be used to provide a solution that is feasible and cost effective. This solution is later translated into a systems that satisfies the need. Nevertheless, delivered solutions usually leverage a need during a limited amount of time. At times, the needs can disappear or they can evolve into more complex scenarios. On the case of the evolution of the need into more complex scenarios, development teams with be appointed with the task of changing the system in order to satisfy the new scenario. System Design and Management can be defined as the grouping of all these activities that are needed to analyze need, provides a continuous solution for a problem or decides to retire a system.
