Leadership & Systems Management

Globally, most vulnerable populations do not have access to basic services and have limited access to health care services.  As a result, there are diverse perspectives from the social justice standpoint that provide opinion over the mutual obligations between the individual and the society on how to leverage this issue.  No matter the perspective on healthcare rights, health care organizations must provide high quality health care to all individuals, all the time.  As a result, health care organizations will need to have individuals capable of engaging persons and motivate them to aspire to provision high quality health care services all of the time.

Artifact 1: 544 Transformational Leadership
  • Demonstrates the application of change management theory to organizational and systems changes
  • Demonstrates the concepts of ethical leadership
Transformational leadership is a process intended to engage individuals through motivation to achieve a goal.  This paper contains a review of Transformational Leadership and the traits that a leader must possess.  Additionally, this paper describes the steps that a transformational leaders must follow in order to implement change in an organization.

Artifact 2: 553 Home Visiting Service and Framework
  • Demonstrates ethical leadership principles
  • Demonstrates proficiency in the design of health care programs
  • Demonstrates the ability to interpret and apply health related financial statements to the development of a health care financial plan
Infant mortality has been recognized as a reliable indicator for the characterization of health status of a community and is considered a sentinel metric for some health care organizations.  United States 27th place in rank for industrialized nations evidences the great need for the design and implementation of services or approaches that will help to decrease infant mortality.  The document, 553.Home.Visiting.Framework.docx, contains a proposal for a fake health care organization located in the southern states of the United States that proposes a data-driven strategy to decrease the incidence of low-birth with and infant mortality and avoid resource waste.  This intervention includes the incorporation and use of IoT and Big Data technologies on a cloud environment with the intention of providing health care professional a tool for tracking and reviewing the impact of interventions on a community.

Artifact 3: 557 Strategic Planning Process Map
  • Demonstrates the application of concept of strategic planning for the development of a strategic plan
  • Demonstrate the ability to interpret and apply related financial health statements
West Health Group is an organization whose main goal is to lower health care costs for senior population.  Document 557.West.Health.Strategic.Plan.docx contains a strategic plan proposal for this health care organization that aims at strengthening the organizational capabilities and decreasing risk in relation to workforce shortage.  The strategic plan takes in consideration the current mission, vision and values from this health care organization and build a strategy that promotes them.  This strategic plan was built using as a template the 8 step process proposed by Ebener & Smith (2015).
